BN10-20: Area Students Win Alberta Scholarships

Recent History – 1999

Over 360 students have been awarded scholarships and grants at Augustana University College in Camrose, Alta.

Among those receiving such awards for the 1999-2000 academic year were:

Vincent Dewey Brocke, of Dawson Creek, second year bachelor of science student, a total of $1,250 for cross-country skiing award, university study grant, (partially funded by Muriel M. Bevington Scholarship).

Jonathan Edward Eagles, of Dawson Creek, first year bachelor of science student, a total of $1,879 for academic honours, non-Alberta university incentive scholarship (partially funded by Centennial Food Service scholarship).

Sonya Tamara Eagles, of Dawson Creek, fourth year bachelor of arts student, a total of $4,848 for academic excellence, music-vocal award, music-choral award, leadership award (partially funded by Lutheran Life Campus scholarship).

Leesa Gail Erickson, of Lacombe, Alta, first year bachelor of arts student, a total of $2,379 for academic merit, non-Alberta university incentive scholarship, university study grant (partially funded by TransAlta Corporation scholarship).

Brenna Janine Fick, of Dawson Creek, first year bachelor of arts student, a total of $3,053 for academic excellence, non-Alberta university incentive scholarship.

Lana Leigh Miller, of Rolla, second year bachelor of science student, a total of $1,174 for academic honours.

Jilion Kirstine Petrick of Dawson Creek, first year bachelor of arts student, a total of $1,292 for academic merit, non-Alberta university incentive scholarship.

Laurie Beth Wilson, of Dawson Creek, first year bachelor of arts student, a total of $2,489 for academic honours, non-Alberta university incentive scholarship, basketball award.

Providing over $516,000 to its students in scholarships and grants, Augustana University College recognizes excellence in academics, fine arts, athletics and leadership. Special cases of financial need are also supported. Funding for these awards comes from generous donors, interest on endowments, and from general Augustana funds.

An accredited member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, Augustana University College, located in Camrose, Alta, is a liberal arts and science university offering three- and four-year arts and science degree programs with specialization in 23 areas.
