BN07-30: Music Students Honoured by Teachers

DAWSON CREEK — That there’s lots of musical talent in Dawson Creek proved a recent recital, put on by the South Peace Music Teachers Association.

Several students were presented with awards of excellence in the Royal Conservatory of Music examinations, both practical and theory.

In addition, Kevin Voon was presented with the Ross Memorial Award, named after Estelle Ross, a long-time Dawson Creek music teacher who has since passed away.

The music teachers hold regular recitals, the next one on Friday Nov. 24 at KPAC.

The musical talents can also be heard at the Christmas Coffeehouse at KPAC, on Dec. 15.

The awards, as presented at the Oct. 23 recital at the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre, are:
